Travelling solo
to India could be exciting but at the same time nerve-wrecking! Could anyone,
especially a solo woman traveler inIndia, be able to survive? The answer is a resounding yes. Any solo girl
will be able to manage travelling to an exotic and interesting country as
India. But it takes a few planning to ensure that trips run as smoothly as
possible.
What to bring
The number of
articles of clothing that you should bring would be according to the days you would
be in India but be sure to bring a few pair of pants, a suitable sarong
(clothing used by women in India) in case you need to attend a formal event and
sunscreen. Temperatures could get scorching hot in India and you should never
go out without protection.
What to avoid
If you cannot
speak the local language then you should never go out without a guide book or
an interpreter. If you plan to visit villages and join festivities, always
inform your hotel concierge where you would be headed. And just like visiting
other countries, if you plan to drive a car in India, have your driver’s
license ready and to never drive without learning all the rules of the road
first.
Don’t forget important numbers
Remember the
number of your car rental company, your car insurance company and the local
number of the consulate office or embassy. You may need to call the embassy for
any problems about your passport or if there should be any type of emergency.
Be sure to have all these numbers placed on your mobile phone.
Online accommodations and travel plans
To reduce the
stress of looking for accommodations, you must reserve your hotel room and your
personal service online. There is no time to stress or worry when you visit
India and therefore you should order your accommodations as early as possible.
Complete your travel itinerary ahead of time so you will have a lot of time to
spend visiting places and doing a lot of activities that you can only do in
India.
